ADAM
We learned about the seven phases of living planet genesis.
ELLE
Can you name the seven phases?
ADAM
The first is after the planet already exists inside a nebula.
ELLE
And what do you know about such a planet?
ADAM
It's round, and it spins, and it's dark, but it's really hot and messy.
ELLE
And then what happens to that planet? Do you remember?
ADAM
The first phase is where the light makes day and night.
ELLE
And where does that light originate? Is it on Earth somewhere?
ADAM
It's sunlight. And the sun's blanket wears thin, and let's the sunlight
through.
ELLE
And then what? What does the light do?
ADAM
Mommy? What's a solar blanket? It's very dusty.
ELLE
And that is all that it is, dust floating uncollected in outerspace.
ADAM
How does it keep the Earth-planet warm?
ELLE
The dust catches the sunlight and heat, and gets warm itself, but only
very darkly.
ADAM
There must be a lot of dust to keep a whole planet warm.
ELLE
Yes, a very lot - enough at first to make the sun and planets.
ADAM
Then, the Earth-planet gets quiet, and the wind turns into clouds and rain.
(yawns)
ELLE
And that's the next phase? That's the second?
ADAM
Yes, then the seas and lands cool, and make soil, and grow plants.
ELLE
Can you grow plants without soil?
ADAM
We have those hydroponic flowers: but they need nutrients.
ELLE
And what happens when the Earth is full of plants?
ADAM
Animals start eating them - but they are not fish and birds until they
have eyes, and can see the moon and stars. Then there are land-creatures,
too, and mankind. Mr Gabriel says we may visit a sixth-day planet ... but,
mommy, how do animals get to Earth?
ELLE
The Life-Principle we call, God, forms its manifestation everywhere in
concert harmony - all things reflect Life, together and diversely.
ADAM
And then God approves, and gives us things to do and learn.
ELLE
Yes, and that's the seventh phase to think about - good night, dear one.
(kiss)
